And- if you are planning on future projects for ]other systems, I hold a self copyright on ANY such device for n64, which ]I already make and distribute. I guess there's no way to stop you from ]doing your nes project (which I had no intention of stopping you, just ]not letting you claim it to be a "new invention" like tsr said. **I reply, to the above stuff** > I'd love to see pictures of this thing. (both the portable NES and the > portable N64) As they say, proof's in the pudding. Oh my next project > is a portable SNES, and maybe even N64 after that. And as long as you > provide no proof of either existing I'll continue to call mine the > original. **he replies to the above, once again quoting everything** ]I may have no legal ground to stand on for the nes, but if you touch the ]N64 I will take legal action. **I reply to him, laughing him off** > Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! This is very funny indeed. You cannot copyright > an idea. You cannot patent an idea. You *can* copyright artwork used in > say, a portable N64 but you cannot copyright the idea. You cannot patent > an idea, but you can patent the execution of an idea. > > Well, that settles it. Next project is an N64 that fits inside a nomad case. > Thanks for deciding which project I should work on. ]well, i dont care if you do that, i make a back loading attackment that ]has a screen and 8-AA battery power supply built in. if you want to do a ]nomad conversion, i couldn't care less. i mean as far as add-ons **I reply, obviously trolling** >Ohh, one of those. Well, I should do one of those too. Sounds like a >good idea to me. I can make a bunch of those and make lots of cash on them. **He never replies again, so I send one final e-mail** Well, thanks for the e-mails. I've not got another entry for my crank e-mail page. This will do nicely. I'll hand it to TSR so he can place it up on his e-mail page also. **Well, my friend couldn't leave well enough alone. He had to e-mail this guy about his "products"!** }Hi, }I heard through a friend that you have information on a portable Nintendo, }made from a Game Gear. Can you tell me how I can buy one? }Thanks, }Rob **he replies** >yes, but I am currently having legal trouble from khorton@iquest.net >who has stolen ALL of my patented inventions and is now producing them >at high profit. Until the legal matters are cleared up (until he pays >up) im sorry, but ill have to hold off making new ones. >you can make one as good as anyone by just plugging in the rf switch >to a gamegear and a tv tuner, it just will require more batteries > sorry, > -eek **Rob asks more questions** }I'm not sure if I understand this fully. Is there some reason from a }legal standpoint that stops you from making new units while you are suing }that guy? Wouldn't it be in your best interests to keep making and }selling them to pay court costs, etc? If it's a case of him infringing }on your patent then it's a fairly simple case to prove by the date you }registered the design at the patent office. If he's bought one of your }units and then copied your design then you might have something against }him. > you can make one as good as anyone by just plugging in the rf switch to >a gamegear and a tv tuner, it just will require more batteries }Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a "portable" system? You still have to }lug around a full sized NES, and plug it in too. }Regards, }Rob S. **he replies again** >well, thats what my system was, just all in a fitted box that attackes >to the back of the nes **end of conversation #1** **Meanwhile, |TSR, who originally put up the page about my portendo gets the following e-mail** > To: tsr > Subject: kevin horton's STOLEN projects > Date: Friday, August 21, 1998 9:11 PM > just to clear things up-- khorton@iquest.net > has made a new invention w/ his nomad version of the protable nes, > but I created the first portable nes (using a gamegear). > I have also made a similar N64 adapter, his thoughts are > > "Ohh, one of those. Well, I should do one of those too. Sounds like a > good idea to me. I can make a bunch of those and make lots of cash on > them." > > My thoughts are if he even trys, ill sue. I have rights to that product, > and If he makes a clone, ill take him down. he claims he'll tell the > whole NES community that I stole HIS ideas, and that he's gonna try to > post me as a thief everywhere, but the idea was MINE! and the prduct was > MINE! and I know you'll probably be one of the first to hear his trash, > and I wanted you to know the truth first. > > Eek **fin**
