The chip

Found on the cart "Impossible Mission 2"

How it works:

This cart uses what appears to be a custom programmed microcontroller to do the lockout defeating. It pulses a couple of the lockout chip lines with some nasty voltages to try and "stun" it. What I find interesting is the chip is marked "PATENT PENDING" on the top, along with the name "NINA". I don't know what NINA stands for, but it is on all of the PCBs and such that AVE made.
