After the sucess of the 2600, Atari tried to build a better mousetrap. Their attempt was the 5200. The 5200 is essentially a stripped-down Atari 8-bit computer with some of the periferals re-mapped in address space. Oh, let us not forget that they added those painful analog sticks, too.
Not too much else on the 5200 at the moment. I have made the 5200Jr, which is a new 5200 that fits entirely inside a 2600Jr case, and has all the games built into it, including bounty bob. It runs on a menu like my other creations. Will have more to report when I get pictures. Update! I have a page about the 5200 Jr. ! |
